John Piper (in 2012) on J.I.Packer (in 1972) on why we need not go any further than John 1:1-14 to understand why there is no need to change "Son of God" language in reference to Jesus and "Father" in reference to God in Bible translations for Muslims. The term "Son of God" was an issue for the first readers of the Apostle John's Gospel just as it is for us today. The Bible explains the issue itself. We are called to teach the meaning the Bible gives, not translate the meaning as we judge it should be according to the norms of the receptor culture...Amen.
